University of Oregon 给了据信, 一封信躺在信箱里, 一看厚度就知道是薄薄的一张据信.

套他家的教授的时候,  居然大多告诉我很少把offer发给 international student.

最搞笑的是, 还有一个教授说, 如果我是体育特长生, 象打什么橄榄球, 做过什么队长, 或者棒球什么的, 可以考虑一下. 这样的招生应该是针对本科生的吧, 怎么可能是研究生也搞这个.   

小秘态度及其差, 材料寄过去连个email 都不回, 打他家的电话, 居然用answering machine . 本来就不抱希望的一个学校. 也罢了.

接下来就是WSU, 小秘狂好, 把招生过程详细地说了一遍, 还说我在top 1/3里, 具体在哪里就不清楚了, 赶紧套瓷吧.  把所有地教授发了个遍. 真是 desperate的举动, 具体招生过程大概就是这样的.

They selected the first students to offer assistantships to and are waiting to hear back from those students before making additional offers.  This is the way it works: the students are selected by the their academic records, letters of recommendation, GRE and TOEFL scores, and how well the applicant's goals and research match our professors.  If the offered students turn us down, we reopen our pool and move on to the next candidate in line.  You can understand why this process can become quite lengthy.  Once all of our extended offers have been accepted, we provide a synopsis of the remaining applicants to our faculty members.  If a faculty member is interested in a student, that faculty member must be willing to supply financial support for the student's tuition and other expenses for a two year period.

是不是意味着我进入了传说中的waiting list.   不过也算是上进了一步. 但也不抱希望的.他家的研究方向不是我申的主力方向.
